— Union Pacific Blazes Trail to Future —The Union Pacific reached Fremont in 1866. The new Union Depot was erected at a cost of $50,000 and gave the approach to the city a dignified and completed appearance, with its winding gravel walks, grass and flower plots and wide frontage.
