Upon the appearance of Wilson's Brigade of Walker's Division upon the right flank of Croxton's first position the Brigade filed to its right and fought on this line re-enforced by the 31st Ohio. It gradually withdrew before the attack of Wilson's Brigade and being relieved in part by King's Brigade of Baird's Division and the advance of Starkweather's Brigade of the same command it retired to the glade in its rear where it procured ammunition, reformed its lines and again advanced.
