John Murray, Earl of Dunmore,
last Royal Governor of Virginia.
This tract was surveyed in July, 1773,
by William Crawford, upon warrants issued to George Washington for 3,953 Acres and George Muse for 3,323, for services in the French and Indian War. It bordered on the great Kanawha, twelve miles and two hundred and twenty seven poles.
