Home of Lucius Quintus Cincinnatus Lamar from 1868 to 1888. Lamar was an educator at the University of Mississippi; a colonel, 19th Miss. Inf,l CSA; a U.S. congressman; senator; Secretary of the Interior; and an associate justice of the U.S. Supreme Court. This property was designated a National Historic Landmark on May 15, 1975.
