Ayuntamiento1995-1998El 25 de febrero de 1856 surgio a la vida, donde antes existio el rancho "El Progreso", esta bella ciudad que, en honor a su nombre, apunta con decisión hacia metas de grandeza, con fe en el empeño de sus hijos. El pueblo de Progreso en el primer centenariode este lugar, rinde fervoroso homenaje a Dn. Juan Miguel Castro, esforzado paladinde la idea que es hoy una bella realidad. Progreso, Yuc, febrero 25 de 1956. Construida esta prolongación delmalecón por la Junta Federal deMejoras Materiales por acuerdodel Lic.
