October 28, 1932 - August 27, 2010These grounds belong in spirit and enthusiasm to Dallas Quasula Sr., a member of the Hualapai tribe. Dallas, a tribal councilman and elder, was also a highly regarded citizen of the county and graduate of Seligman High School. Dallas served honorably in the United States Army. He worked as a cattle wrangler, heavy equipment operator, surveyor, corrections officer and cultural resources protection officer. Dallas served on the Route 66 Association Board as a representative of Peach Springs and the Hualapai Tribe, from 1988 until his walking on in 2010. Dallas started the Hualapai Nation Fun Run Pit BBQ event in 1990. Every year since 1990, Dallas, along with his family and other volunteers, served his famous Pit BBQ Beef and Hualapai Tacos to the many visitors that stopped during the Annual Fun Run each May. He also served more than 35 years on the Hualapai Tribal Council, proudly representing the Hualapai people and their lands. In 2006, Dallas was inducted into the Historic Route 66 Association's Wall of Fame.
