The 4th cavalry was organized by Colonel John Kennett, its first commander in 1861, for three years. Commanded at Chickamauga by Lieutenant Colonel Oliver P. Robie; participated in all the fighting of Colonel Eli Long's Brigade of Crook's Division, at the Chickamauga fords and about Crawfish Springs, south and east of this point. Loss, killed 4: wounded 9: captured or missing 21: Total 34
