The midway city of Melbourne boasts the grand opening of the Melbourne Hotel. Built by developer Elton Hall.

Late 1920's to Early 1960's
Several specialty shops, a barbershop, a taxi dispatch station and drug store enjoyed bustling business on the first floor. The Van Croix Theatre was built adjacent to the building.

U.S. Route 1 was widened to allow for increased traffic flow? an end to store front parking for the first floor shops.

The Melbourne Bank and Trust/Flagship Bank bought the building and renovated the first and second floors for professional offices.

May of 1984
Harry and Wendy Brandon bought the building and renamed it the 1900 building because of its address and its reflection of the historic era in which it was built. The Brandon's completed an entire renovation of the third floor, reinstalled windows in the structure, added awnings, and continued using the building for professional offices.

Nov. 8 1985
