Nov. 25, 1863.

The Regiment took prominent part in the capture of the Orchard Knob Line Nov. 23d. It participated with its Brigade in the storming of Missionary Ridge. Near the summit Col. Langoon, leading the Regiment, was severely wounded. The crest was carried, and the command moved from this point to the right, capturing both guns and prisoners. Gen. Hazen reports that about 100 men formed by Lieut. Col. Langoon were the first on the crest.
Casualties: Killed, 1 Officer, 10 Men; Wounded, 4 Officers, 64 Men; Total 79.
