The Landers Theatre was built in 1909 by John and Douglas J. Landers. It opened with a production of "The Golden Girl." Lillian Russell, Sousa's Band and Fanny Brice have all appeared here. The Landers was the 35th theatre in the nation to show talking movies. Springfield Little Theatre has owned the Landers since 1970.
