Went into position here about 9:00 a.m., April 6, 1862; advanced to right and front, and after a sharp encounter fell back to this position where its greatest loss occurred. About 4:00 p.m. it moved to assist M'Clernand. Loss in the battle, 2 officers killed; 2 wounded; 15 men killed; 79 wounded; 1 missing; Total 99.
