Mrs. Cecelia Morse started the first school in San Antonio in 1883. The Benedectine Sisters assumed administration in 1889. This red brick schoolhouse was built in 1922 at a cost of 22,000 dollars eleven years after the adjacent church had been erected. The grotto and the wall facing the plaza were constructed in 1935 of native rock.Placed by the Pasco Board of County Commissioners and the Historical Preservation Committee 1984
