— Dedicated on July 16, 2000 —The 105 howitzer was first put into full production in 1934. They were used for the support of the infantry soldier. Each artillery battery consisted of 5 guns, each with the capability of firing shells a distance of 8 miles. The 105 howitzer was used in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam before being modified in 1985.
