Sievers, 1872-1966, one of the South's most prolific sculptors, maintained his residence and studio at what is now 1206 W. 43rd Street for more than one half century. Although best known for his Virginia monument at Gettysburg and the memorials to Jackson and Maury on Monument Avenue in Richmond, there are examples of his work throughout the Commonwealth, the South, and beyond.
