Designed by Madison architect Frank Riley for a prominent undertaker, this Tudor-style house was built on an old cobblestone foundation. Painter Aaron Bohrod purchased it in 1959 and added a studio designed by Herb Fritz. Bohrod, artist in residence at the University of Wisconsin from 1948 to 1973, is noted for his 'trompe l'oeil' style of painting.
