Named for Stephen Elliott, first president of the Bank of the State of South Carolina and noted botanist. Elliot College, a residence hall, was one of the first historic Horseshoe buildings to undergo extensive remodeling under the Horseshoe Restoration Program and served as a prototype of the restoration of other Horseshoe residences.
