In 1925 U. S. Secretary of CommerceHerbert Hoover, later U. S.President, inspected Fred Young'sdairy farm following recognition ofone of its Jerseys, Sensation'sMikado's Millie, as a world championbutter-fat producer. The house here,built c. 1877 according to familytradition, was remodeled 1968 byEdward L. Young, S. C. House member1958~60, U. S. Congressman 1972~74.
