In loving memory of Robert W. Leibling, Husband, Father, WWII Captain, Community Leader, Executive. 1923-2000.

Robert W. Lebling gave to the community with passion, just as he loved his family and friends. Highly respected for his civic and business leadership, Mr. Lebling served on numerous boards and committees for the economic betterment of Bethesda.

As President of the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Chamber of Commerce during 1964 and 1965, he led the Bethesda Beautification Project under which hundreds of trees were planted along Wisconsin Avenue.

Mr. Lebling served as an Army Air Corps Captain in World War II, and flew his B-26 in 50 European combat missions. He and his devoted wife, Rita, raised six children while he owned and directed a Bethesda-based real estate company.

This memorial was donated by his family and friends with the grateful assistance of the Bethesda Urban Partnership.
