Allen Kryger was a scientist and local businessman
who specialized in supplying citrus flavoring.
Born in Chicago, Illinois, he graduated from
the University of Notre Dame and received a
doctorate of organic chemistry from Iowa State
University. Dr. Kryger founded three Lakeland
companies and devoted twenty years to these family
owned businesses. Kryger Park, opened in 2006,
is made possible by his widow,
Lynn Kryger, and the Kryger Family.
The park is dedicated to the citizens of Lakeland
in memory of this devoted family man,
active community volunteer and philanthropist.
