 D. Om. Governando en España la S. CCM. del poderoso Rei Don Carlos I El Magnifico Señor Don Hernando Cortes fundador de la Muy Noble y Leal Ciudad de Mexico y de este insigne hospital puso la primera piedra de la nueva nacionalidad mexicana al abrir los cimientos de la Villa Rica de la Veracruz en el mes de abril del año del Señor 1519. El Consejo de Guadalupe ioso de la Orden de Caballeros de Colon dedica este recuerdo al cumplirse cuatro centurias de aquel hecho fundamental para la patria mexicano de siete días del mes de abril de 1919.
English translation:Governing in Spain the powerful King Carlos I, the Magnificent Hernando Cortés, founder of the Most Noble and Loyal City of Mexico and this distinguished hospital laid the first stone of the new Mexican nationality by laying the foundations of Villa Rica de la Veracruz in the month of April of the year of the Lord 1519. The Council of Guadalupe and the Order of the Knights of Columbus dedicates this memorial at the end of four centuries of that fundamental event for the Mexican homeland, on the 7th of April of 1919.
