Master woodcarver, adventurer, writer, World War II Marine Corps veteran, and Fairhope legend are just a brief summary of Craig Turner Sheldon's life and contributions. He settled here in 1946 with his Wife Annie Lowrie to raise their growing family and to began his landmark Storybook Castle on Oak Avenue.

This statue by Stephen Spears was commissioned by friends, family, and the Fairhope Single Tax Corporation and is the first public statue of an artist in Alabama history.
