19th Tennessee, Col. Francis M. Walker.
24th Tennessee, Col. John A. Wilson.
31st Tennessee, Col. Egbert E. Tansil.
33rd Tennessee, Col. Warner P. Jones.
Stanford's (Mississippi) Battery, Capt. Thomas J. Stanford.



This brigade relieved Gen. Preston Smith's brigade on this ground about 2 P.M., Sept. 19th. It moving to the right to close a gap between the command and Jackson's brigade the line was vigorously attacked in front and flank and forced to the rear. Soon after Maney's brigade moved forward on the right relieving Jackson, when Strahl reformed his line moved forward on Maney's left and became hotly engaged, but was soon obliged to fall back, and retired to the line of the morning advance.
Strength in action Sept. 19th, 1149 men.
