Designed by architect Xavier Kramer, and
constructed by Standard Construction Co.
in 1917, this multi-storied Neo-Classical
building contains a large courtroom and
offices for county officials. A cultural
as well as legal center, the courthouse
was the site of celebration on November
11, 1918, when World War I ended. The
first radio program in Stone County
history was broadcast to the crowd gathered
on the lawn on October 24, 1922. The county
celebrated its centennial on May 14, 2016.
