The 11th Mississippi is seen in the foreground around Whiting. Gen. John B. Hood is exhorting the 4th Texas in the middle distance, in the Parsons farm ﬁeld. Five more Confederate brigades under Gen. James Lgngstreet extended the line beyond Hood.
