—Cradle of Country Music Tour —

The St. James Hotel located on Wall Avenue, off of Market Square, was the site of several significant recordings with the Brunswick-Balke-Collander Company in 1929 and 1930.

The Tennessee Ramblers, a family band from nearby Clinton, Tennessee, were among the musicians who recorded here. One of the band's members, Willie Sievers, was among the first professional female country music guitarists. (Marker Number 17.)
