English:Ball Court OneThis group is composed of various
structures: the parallel walls which line the sides of the ball court and the buildings which enclose it at each
end. The straight walls at Toluquilla show no traces of having had rings. Therefore it is supposed that in this
form of the game, ground markers were used, a theory supported by information arising from the excavations. The temples which lie at each end are

the most important at the site. The group ends at an
elevated courtyard whose activities are thought to be related with the rituals of this game.It should be remembered that the ball game, in prehispanic times, had a ritual character, which suggests that
ritual character, which suggests that (sic, repeated text) the town was a religious center. All the structures you see are what remains of a great city which contained roughly 120 structures. Over the centuries the walls lost their finish, and the roofs caved in. In spite of the work directed towards its restoration and conservation, however, this site will never be seen as it was when inhabited.
