Sara Winifred Brown, M.D.
Her medical degree was awarded by Howard University in 1904. She served as the first female graduate trustee of Howard University, 1924-1948.

In 1910, she was one of the founders of the College Alumnae Club, later changed to the National Association of College Women, now the National Association of University Women.

In celebration of the Centennial year of the National Association of University Women, the oak tree is planted on October 14, 2010 by the Northeast Section.
