The Hawaiian goddess Hi'iaka compared the
peak of volcanic cone of Diamond Head to the
dorsal fin of the 'ahi fish, thus the Hawaiian name
for Diamond Head is Le'ahi.

This site was once the Dillingham Home, the
beachfront house of Harold Garfield Dillngham
(1881- 1971). The coconut grove and seawall are
the remnants of the residence.
