The New York State Pavilion served as a movie set for several films, TV programs, and a music video. Some of the productions shot here since the fair were "Men in Black", "McCloud", "Law and Order", "CSI New York", and "Iron Man II". The pavilion and much of the fairgrounds were also the setting for a video game.
Perhaps the best recognized "set pieces" are the observation towers for their role in "Men in Black" seen as an alien space ship.
The pavilion was transformed into an urban munchkin land for "The Wiz", a disco/soul adaption of the "Wizard of Oz". LOOK! Some of the graffiti art from the set decoration bled through a previous paint job. Work was done to preserve this piece of the building's history and is visible to the right of the top of the escalator.
