About 2 o'clock a.m. September 20th, the Brigade was withdrawn from Viniard's and posted on the slope of the ridge west of this tablet, where it remained, with Buell's Brigade on its right and Barnes' Brigade of Van Cleve's Division on its left, until 9 o'clock. At this hour Harker, Buell and Barnes were sent forward under command of General Wood to relieve Negley's Division on the front line.
