The Division crossed the stream at Byram's Ford a mile and a half down and on the night of the 18th bivouacked near Alexander's house moving forward soon after daylight of the 19th to take its intended place on the right of the line it halted at this point for further orders. At about 10:30 o'clock it was ordered to the right to the support of Wilson's and Ector's Brigades of Walker's Divisions hotly engaged in the vicinity of Jay's Mill with Brannan's and Baird's Divisions of Thomas' Corps.
