This historic Lakewood home, built in the "cottage" style in 1865 and was known as the "Aull Cottage". It was built for Major W.F. Aull who served in the Civil War. Major Aull's daughter Jennie met and eventually married Paul Arthor Sorg. They built the "Sorg Manor" across the street where there is an identical historical plaque. The families also had ownership interest in the Lakewood Country Club located between the Sorg Manor and Chautauqua Lake. The "cottage" remained with the Aull's until sometime after World War I. It then passed thru several owners until 1974 when it was purchased by the Pearson family. Placed here by Lakewood Historic Museum.
