Cleburne's Division

—Breckinridge's Corps. —

Polk's Brigade.
Cleburne's Division - Breckinridge's Corps.
Brigadier General Lucius E. Polk.
November 24 and 25, 1863.

1st Arkansas - Colonel John W. Colquitt.
3rd and 5th Confederate - Lieutenant Colonel J. C. Cole.
2nd Tennessee - Colonel William D. Robison.
35th and 48th Tennessee - Colonel Benjamin J. Hill.
Semple's (Alabama) Battery - Lieutenant Richard W. Golothwaite. (Attached).

About noon of the 24th, when it was discovered that Sherman had crossed the Tennessee River opposite the north end of the ridge, the Brigade was ordered from its position on the ridge, south of the shallow ford road, to the Stone Bridge over the Southern Railroad, about one and a half miles east of this position. Two regiments and a section of Semple's Battery were ordered to occupy the commanding hill immediately north of the bridge, with the remainder of the Brigade and Battery posted near the bridge.
On the 25th the Brigade was supported on its left by Wright's Brigade of Cheatham's Division and Scogin's (Georgia) Battery.
The Brigade and Battery were not engaged and sustained no losses.
