City of Florence Walk of HonorCommander of the Hawk, the fastest U.S. ship in the Spanish-American War, Rear Admiral John M. Hood then commanded the Fourth Division of the Atlantic Fleet in World War I. The USS John Hood (DD-655) was named for him.
