The Brigade took position on this ground on the morning of September 20th in the second division line of Longstreet's central column of attack, B.R. Johnson's Division constituting the first line and McLaws' the third. Law's Brigade formed the first line of its Division. At 11:15 the command moved forward in the general advance Law's Brigade inclining towards the Poe house where it attacked the Union line.
