[Excerpt from marker giving specific history]
A boy was often hired by the barber to give shoe shines while his customers waited. The shoe shine stand in the back of the barber shop was originally in the old Creston depot. It belonged to Arthur Rice who was known for the shines he gave to the train passengers in Creston.
