Site of Homestead of Lawyer and StatesmanGeorge F. Edmunds, one of this nation's foremost legislators, was born on this farm, Feb. 1, 1828. After serving at Montpelier as Speaker, he represented Vermont in Washington as Senator for 25 years, and presided over the Senate when Arthur was President.
