1944 -USAAF - 1945

Air Depot Liberty Ships and Maintenance Unit Auxiliary Vessels supported air operations in the Western Pacific. Army, Navy and Merchant Marines combined to provide aircraft repair shops, specialty services, mobile maintenance, defensive gunnery, salvage and rescue operations. Their helicopters operating from shipboard helipads and amphibious vehicles served island locations.
