— Sogenanntes Freudenhaus —English: In this area three private houses have been identified: in the middle stood House 2, a two-storey peristyle house which was mistakenly interpreted as a house of pleasure for a long time. Used from the 15' century B.C. into the 3" century A.D., its centre, as at House 1, was an open courtyard surrounded with columns around which rooms were grouped; shops (tabernae) opened onto the street. The exterior appearance of the southern part (House 3) was characterized by the Curetes Hall which was built into it in the 6"' century A.D.
