Salvador Salazar Arrué

(1899-1975)

Salarrue,
"O Yarkandal"
English translation:
One of the greatest intellectuals and artists of El Salvador of the 20th century. He was a poet, narrator, essayist, painter, art critic, journalist and diplomat.
The personification of national creative talent; expansive and self-taught, sensible and iconoclast, candid and rebellious. A good part of his work - the narrative particularly - makes up a true compendium, of the "born soul", the same that Salarrué dared to describe, promote and reinterpret as few have done, before and after him.
