The Seth Thomas Clock Co. manufactured this timepiece in 1911 and only a few of their two-dial clocks remain. This clock retains its original mechanical operation.

In 1915, Fred Cox, owner of Hallet Drug Store, purchased the clock and moved it from Boston to 70 Front St.

In 1966, the clock was moved to its present location and purchased by Harry C. Crooker of Brunswick. Harry and Marion Crooker and family donated the clock to the City, provided that it is maintained and in continuous operating condition, or the clock will revert back to the Crooker family.

In 1999-2000 funds were raised by the City and Citizens of Bath for the restoration of the clock by Balzer Family Clock Works, Freeport, Me.
