Twenty-Forth Chief Justice
— 1971-1977 —A native of Tuscumbia, he was the son of Reverend Marvin R. Heflin and Louise D. Strudwick Heflin. He was a graduate of Colbert County High School, Birmingham Southern College, and the University of Alabama School of Law. He was a past President of the Alabama State Bar. He was the first recipient of the Daniel J. Meador Award given by the University of Alabama School of Law.
