This plaque is dedicated to the gallant crew members of the 492nd B.G. who fought and died inthe war against Hitler's Nazi Germany. The 492nd B.G. lost more men and planes in a 3 month period than any other 8th AAF Bomb Group. The492nd Bomb Group was disbanded by the 8th AAF onAugust 7 1944 because of high battle losses.
