In memory of the Honorable Brigadier Gen. Enoch Poor of the State of New Hampshire who departed this life on the 8 day of Sept. 1780 aged 44 Years.

Washington, Lafayette and a portion of the American army attended the burial of Gen. Poor.
In 1824, Lafayette re-visited this grave and turning away much affected, exclaimed, "Ah, that was one of my Generals."
