This bell tower was constructed from components saved from the demolition of what was last known as the Hopewell Elementary School and was previously the Oxford High School. The building was designed by W.L. Plack of Philadelphia and constructed in 1904-05.
The bell itself was cast in Sheffield England by Vickersons & Co. in 1867 and was initially installed in the bell tower of the Union School in 1868.
This project was carried out by the Oxford Area Historical Association with the help of many volunteers and donors from the Oxford community, with special recognition to the Oxford Area High School Class of 2000, whose donation enabled the start of the project.
Erected 2004-5
