Manassas National Battlefield Park

The road trace before you once linked the Spring Hill Farm (Henry Hill) and the Portici plantation. Both of these properties figured prominently at First Manassas and the narrow path connecting them became a conduit for Confederate troop movements.

General Thomas J. Jackson's brigade emerged here on Henry Hill around noon on July 21, 1861. Many other regiments soon followed. The many reinforcements coming up this road contributed to the eventual Confederate victory.
