Built in 1848 by Ahira Rockwell Hinkley first settler in Eagle Township, who came here in 1836. This house is one of the best examples of cobblestone work in Wisconsin. To insure uniformity in size, the stones were dropped through a hole in a board. The structure is architecturally unique in having no corner slabs, or quoins.
