Inscription
Original building of the Salisbury State Normal School, the first public institution on the Eastern Shore for the training of teachers for Maryland's public schools. Opened in 1925 and expanded in 1928 and 1932, it was until 1950 the only building on campus, housing classrooms, dormitories, faculty and administrative offices, auditorium, gymnasium, and dining hall. Named for Dr. William Holloway, first president of the school.
