124th Ohio Infantry.
Hazen's Brigade, Wood's Division, 4th Corps.
Lieut. Col. James Pickands.
Nov. 25, 1863.
The regiment participated in the brigade advance of Nov. 23 on Orchard Knob, losing 1 killed and 3 wounded. In the assault on Missionary Ridge, the regiment reached the summit at this point, captured several guns and turned one upon the enemy. Part of the regiment, commanded by Lieut. H.F. Proctor, captured two wagons loaded with arms and ammunition on the eastern slope of the ridge. Casualties: Killed, 5 Men; Wounded, 4 Officers, 18 Men; Missing, 2 Men; Total 29.
