Lutheran and Reformed (Calvinistic)Congregations were worshiping ina church three miles north of thissite prior to the year 1751. The church was incorporated in1788 under the name GermanLutheran Church of Salem on Sandy Run but later came tobe known as Sandy RunLutheran Church. The present building was erected in 1919.
